Tragedy & Pain

The world is full of pain. Try as we might there is no way around it. We can try and sugarcoat it, or live in oblivion, but that doesn't change the cold facts. We are called to know Christ in his sufferings, and to come alongside others who are in pain. This is not possible, if we pretend that we don't have any problems. This is not possible if we try to ignore it. Sometimes it is easier to turn a blind eye, because if we acknowledge the pain in the world then we would in some sense began to feel parts of the pain. Most don't want to feel the pain, so we will walk away without shedding a tear.
